What to expect

Itinerary

This is a typical itinerary for this experience.

Stop at: Isla Esteves Island shoreline kayak dock, Uros Floating Islands, Lake Titicaca National Reserve and Puno, Peru.

9:00 am Pick-up at your hotel in Puno (or kayak equipment delivery to your Uros Reed Floating Hotel)

You’ll get a 20-minute car transfer from your downtown hotel to Isla Esteves kayak launching place.

Meet with our kayak team at the lake shoreline, listen to his safety briefing and get all your gear.

9:30 am Kayaking on the world’s highest Lake

You’ll paddle on a flat water and enjoy the view of the surrounding maze of reeds, Mountains and local birds on Lake Titicaca National Reserve.

After one hour, you’ll get in front of you the world’s most innovative feats of human engineering, the reed floating Islands of the Uros community.

You’ll marvel at their simple ingenuity that lives on to this day. Get up close and personal with the local innovation that begins with the Island’s most basic and vital components: the Totora root and reed.

11:30 pm Kayaking from Uros to kayak dock

Sit in your kayak once again and paddle back. Your Lake Titicaca Kayak Rentals ends at the same kayak launch place. Your driver takes you to your hotel on a 20-minute car ride.
