Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this experience.
Stop at:
Puno port, Uros Floating Islands, Llachon shoreline, Lake Titicaca and Puno, Peru.
8:30 am Puno to Uros Islands by motorboat
Our friendly driver takes from your hotel to the main Puno harbor on a 10-minute car ride.
You’ll be assisted to onboard the motor boat, introduced to your boatman and set off towards Uros Islands on a 30-minute boat ride, along the way enjoy the view of the lake surroundings.
On arrival at the floating village be amazed by the innovative way of using Totora root and reed for building their floating homes.
You’ll disembark on one of these islands where you’ll meet your guide and find your kayak equipment. This will be a unique chance to encounter with the local families and learn about history, islands process building, legacy and much more. You could even contribute the local friendly and welcoming family by purchasing their bright, coloured designed handicrafts and souvenirs.
10:00 am Uros to Llachon boating
Then after, you’re heading to Llachon community shoreline. This will be a direct boat navigation of 2 hours.
Upon arrival, let your guide and boatman to set up your kayak gear and equipment. Be ready to paddle on the highest navigable lake in the world. You’ll be hitting the blue horizon and have great views of Taquile Island, Chucuito peninsula and if you paddle further then get insight the island of Amantani.
You’ll return to the same kayak launch place because up on the community is located the local restaurant for lake overlooking view lunch.
The set menu is based on Quinua soup, grilled Trout or chicken with white rice and hot drinks.
3:00 pm Llachon to Uros Islands
Onboard again the engine boat and return to Uros Islands on a 2-hour ride through the same way. You’ll disembark again at one of the reed floating Islands to get in your kayak and start paddling on the way back to Puno shoreline.
This can easily become in one of your best experiences as you’ll be kayaking at the sunset time in Lake Titicaca.
Your enthusiastic kayak tour guide leads you through the waterway. You’ll find yourself kayaking under the Puno city night light (peaceful).
Your day kayak tour in Lake Titicaca ends at Isla Esteves dock. You’ll be picked up by your driver and transferred to your hotel on a 15-minute car ride.
