Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this experience.
Stop at: Puno hotel, Chucuito Temple of fertility, Aramu Muru portal, Lake Titicaca and Puno, Peru.
1:00 PM Puno Hotel to Aramu Muru site
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Puno and head to the Portal of Aramu Muru on a 1 hour 30 min car drive.
Valley of the spirits
Upon arrival, you’ll walk along a trail of sandstone rocks, the magical Pacha Mama path, whose strange shapes conveniently help us connect with fascinating local legends and myths. This hiking might be optional for some people and instead get dropped off a few meters away from the doorway.
At a place named as Ahayu Marka or the “Valley of the Spirits”, you’ll appreciate many rock formations in the shapes of lake birds, animals, Andean deities, human profiles and mysterious creatures.
Then after, you’ll reach the intriguing and energetic portal of Aramu Muru. Archaeologists believe that the site is originally an unfinished site of the Incas. There are many legends and stories associated with it. Some has it that this gate-like carving is a portal, and that it leads to the “city of the gods”.
Temple of Fertility
Following that, en route back to Puno you’ll visit the Temple of Fertility of the Incas ever built before, if your departure is in the morning. But if you visit in the afternoon you’ll stop off at Chucuito Temple of fertility on the way to Aramu Muru.
After a half day trip from Puno to the most impressive rock carving and Incan building, both mysterious, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel in Puno city in the evening.
