Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this experience.
Stop at: Hotel, Puno port, Uros Floating Islands, Lake Titicaca and Puno, Peru.
5:00 am – Hotel to Puno port
Your driver and guide will meet you at your hotel then drive to the Puno port on a 10-minute ride.
5:15 am – Puno port to Uros Islands
Arriving at Uros at sunrise
Then after, you’ll take your private motor boat and begin your ride towards the floating Islands for about 30 minutes, in which you can absorb the tranquility and stillness of the magnificent Lake Titicaca, only disrupted by the sound of the birds.
As you approach your destination, take note of the large, grass-like reeds growing by the wayside, which are famously used in the construction of the islands you’re about to visit.
Practice your Aymara greetings with your guide, and get ready to meet the Uros people, who are eagerly waiting to receive you.
5:45 am – Lake Titicaca Sunrise
On arrival, you’ll enjoy of the stunning view of the sun rising over the Lake and the floating Islands making it a magical moment.
Then after, you’ll be helped down onto dry reed land, and shown around one of the one hundred floating islands in Lake Titicaca National Reserve.
Your guide briefly explains you about the process of building their reed houses and Islands which dates back from ancient time. Your guide and a local man quickly perform how they are built using a model while you sit on a reed log.
You’ll see the way they live, and learn from your guide just how vital the Totora reed is for this community.

Later, you have the chance to purchase souvenirs or ride a typical reed boat, if you’d like to contribute to the friendly family.
7:30 am – Drop-off at your hotel
Following the cultural exchange and beautiful landscape views, you’ll make your way back to the same embarking port before the crowd starts. On arrival, you’ll be picked up by your driver transferred back to your selected hotel in Puno city.
