Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this experience.
Stop at: Hotel, Isla Esteves, Chimu community shoreline and Lake Titicaca National Reserve and Puno, Peru.
6:00 AM Watching for Titicaca birds
Your driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive to Isla Esteves, located 15 minutes away from Puno center, besides the GHL Hotel.
On arrival, meet your guide, learn the basic of addling, and get in your double kayak. However you do not have to paddle, there will be someone else who is kayaking for you while you just enjoy watching the first birds in the water and near the carpeted reeds.
Our support team and tour guide will do the job for you. The kayak will gently glide across the calm and flat Lake Titicaca water, in an area belonging to Lake Titicaca National Reserve.
Lake Titicaca Grebe
Titicaca grebe
Lake Titicaca National Reserve has a suite of birds not found anywhere else in the world, and holds some of the most remarkable species in a land renowned for its amazing endemics.
This is an ideal area to watch for Titicaca grebe, an endemic bird to Peruvian and Bolivian High Plateau, and looking for them will make your Titicaca birding tour very especial.
Following this incredible morning activity, you’ll be heading to the Uros floating Islands as an extra activity (but really optional).
After a unique and enjoyable experience in a quiet and peaceful landscape, your local tour guide will lead you to Isla Esteves pier, on the way back to Puno city.
You’ll be picked up by your driver again and transferred to your hotel.
